Care & instruction

1. General Care Tips

  • Handle with care: Always handle your dress gently to avoid snagging or stretching the fabric.
  • Avoid friction: Try to avoid contact with rough surfaces or accessories that may cause damage, such as belts with metal parts, rough jewelry, or handbags with abrasive materials.
  • Be mindful of perfume and deodorant: Avoid spraying perfume or deodorant directly onto the fabric to prevent staining or discoloration.

2. Washing Instructions

  • Machine Wash: Most of our dresses can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle to preserve fabric quality and prints.
  • Hand Wash: If your dress has delicate fabrics, embroidery, or special details, we recommend hand washing it in cold water using a mild detergent.
  • Separate Colors: Always wash dresses in similar colors together to prevent any risk of color bleeding, especially with dark or vibrant colors.
  • Avoid Bleach: Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the fabric and affect the colors.

3. Drying Instructions

  • Air Dry: To preserve the shape and fabric of your dress, we recommend air drying. Lay it flat on a clean, dry surface or hang it on a padded hanger.
  • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Dry your dress away from direct sunlight to avoid fading, especially with vibrant prints or colors.
  • Do Not Wring or Twist: Wringing or twisting the fabric can distort its shape. Instead, gently press out excess water by pressing the fabric between two clean towels.

4. Ironing & Steaming

  • Ironing: If your dress gets wrinkled, iron it on the lowest heat setting or use the steam function on your iron. Always iron on the reverse side to avoid any damage to the fabric or prints.
  • Steaming: For a gentler option, steaming your dress is a great way to remove wrinkles without applying direct heat. Steaming also helps refresh delicate fabrics.
  • Avoid High Heat: Never iron on high heat, especially if the dress has embellishments or delicate fabric.

5. Storing Your Dress

  • Storage Location: Store your dresses in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Excessive heat or humidity can damage fabric and cause fading.
  • Hanging: Use light, padded hangers to maintain the shape of your dress. Avoid using thin wire hangers as they may cause stretching or distortion.
  • Folding: For dresses that do not hang well, gently fold them and place them in a breathable garment bag to protect the fabric from dust and moisture.
  • Keep it Clean: Always store your dress clean to avoid stains or odors from setting in.

6. Special Fabric Care

  • Silk and Satin Dresses: Dresses made of silk or satin require extra care. Dry cleaning is recommended to ensure that the fabric stays in top condition.
  • Embellished or Beaded Dresses: Dresses with beads, sequins, or other embellishments should be handled gently. We recommend hand washing or dry cleaning for these items to prevent damage to the embellishments.
  • Delicate Fabrics: For delicate fabrics like lace, chiffon, or tulle, follow the manufacturer’s care instructions closely. In most cases, hand washing and air drying are the best methods.

7. Stain Removal

  • Immediate Action: For any stains, act quickly! Blot (don’t rub) the stain gently with a clean cloth to absorb excess liquid. Do not scrub the fabric, as it can cause damage.
  • Stain Remover: For persistent stains, use a mild stain remover appropriate for the fabric type. Always test the stain remover on a hidden part of the garment before applying it to the stained area.
  • Avoid Rubbing: Avoid rubbing the fabric with abrasive materials, as this can cause damage and disrupt the texture.

8. Professional Cleaning

For delicate fabrics, heavily embellished dresses, or any item you’re unsure about, we recommend dry cleaning. Dry cleaning ensures that your dress retains its shape, color, and intricate details without the risk of damage from home washing methods.

9. Fabric-Specific Care (Optional)

  • Cotton Dresses: Cotton is a durable fabric but can shrink or wrinkle. Always follow washing instructions carefully, and consider ironing or steaming for wrinkle-free results.
  • Linen Dresses: Linen is best hand-washed or machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water. Avoid wringing out linen and always air dry it to prevent shrinking or fading.

10. Care for Dresses with Prints

  • Vibrant Prints: Dresses with bold, vibrant prints should be washed separately to avoid color bleeding. Always air dry to maintain the integrity of the print.
  • Printed Fabrics: For printed dresses, avoid ironing directly over the print. Iron from the reverse side to preserve the design.
